Annual Charity Meeting at Leyland

The Annual Charity Meeting for 2014 was held recently at Wellington Park, and was very well attended. The meeting was chaired by our Chairman VWBro Michael Clarke PGJO AsstPGM, and amongst those present were RWBro Peter Connolly PGM, VWBro Keith Beardmore PGJO DepPGM, WBro Ian Nairn PGJD AsstPGM, WBro David Fairclough Prov Grand Almoner, WBro Frank Cooke Treasurer, WBro Dutchman Smith, our Webmaster WBro Mike Beesley, the Group Leaders and Deputies from our five Charity Groups, and other distinguished brethren.

The purpose of the meeting is threefold. Firstly, it gives all of us the chance to meet each other, put names to new faces, and welcome those taking office. Secondly, to report on the situation of our charities and to report on projects undertaken and completed during the preceding twelve months. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, it is the forum whereby future ideas and projects can be outlined and brought to the table for discussion.

The year past was an outstanding one, not only with the defibrillator project with which you are all familiar, but for many other minor, and in some ways even more rewarding projects, the success of which was guaranteed to bring a tear to the eye. We rely on you bringing suggestions to your Delegates and Group Leaders, which they in turn can forward to me, if they are deemed suitable, for further investigation.

The 21st Century Club continues to support our Charity effort, and I would like to thank all of those who support this, and other initiatives which make our Charities so successful, pro rata the best in West Lancashire as a whole.
The generosity of West Lancashire Mark Masons is truly outstanding which makes my job as Provincial Grand Charity Steward, not only a very easy, but a most rewarding one.

Thank you for your continued support!!!!
Howard
